The star was dressed casually in a white T-shirt flaunting the logo of his own charity foundation, Being Human, and bright red pants with shoes.

The actor is currently shooting for his ambitious home production Jai Ho and is also busy hosting the seventh season of the popular reality show Bigg Boss. However, he managed to take time out to encourage the children who were raring to go in his presence. Being a football enthusiast, Salman was more than happy to be associated with the goodwill event.

" Milind is doing good work. I like encouraging sports and football is a game that most kids play. People play cricket too but then those who own the bat, wicket and ball will run away once they are out. But here the ball can be afforded by all." This challenger tournament was initiated five years ago by parliamentarian Milind Deora in association with the English football club Queens Park Rangers.

Salman unveiled a poster of the soccer challenge and kicked the football to start the event. About his participation in sports, Salman said: " I play a lot during charity matches. Also at home I play with the kids. We play football almost every day with the kids." Deora too, ceremoniously kicked the ball at the event.

Doling out the right soundbytes to suit the event, Salman said football was one of his favourite sports and that he would willingly endorsing it.

" There are talks of a football league too, and supposedly I am the brand ambassador of football. But yes, nothing is confirmed as of now," he said.

Salman has maintained a distance from the cricketing tournament Indian Premiere League ( IPL), where his rival Shah Rukh Khan owns a franchise team ( Kolkata Knight Riders) and is one of its most prominent faces.

Rather, he started the Celebrity Cricket League ( CCL) where filmstars from all over the country play the game. Salman's CCL has received mixed response so far.

" I have the love for sports and like to encourage the youth. If I can afford a team, I will definitely do that. Also, if there is a charitable angle to it, surely I will," the superstar said.

A football enthusiast, the superstar took time out of his busy schedule to attend the event organised by MP Milind Deora in Mumbai.

Ram Charan will now team up with Salman Khan for a film
that would be produced by Salman Khan
Ram Charan flew from Hyderabad on Tuesday to meet Salman. The two had a hush-hush meeting over lunch at Salman's home in Mumbai where it was decided that the two stars would come together for a film. Sohail Khan was also present at the meeting.

When contacted Ram Charan admitted, "Yes, I was in Mumbai. I had come to meet Salman. We are working on a project together."

Ram Charan gives Salman a clean chit in the whole Zanjeer copyright controversy where Salman's father writer Salim Khan joined hands with his former partner Javed Akhtar to sue the new Zanjeer makers for copyright infringement

Says Ram defensively, "Salman really couldn't intervene in the matter. It was a matter involving the Writers' Association. He couldn't say anything beyond a point. Even Salim Khan Saab was very supportive. It's just that he had to stand by Javed Akhtar Saab, or the writers' community would have been offended. But to be honest they were fighting for a film that wasn't anything like theirs."

Ram Charan seems to have bounced back after the double debacle last week.Jokes the affable star, "Apoorva Lakhia and I need to sit down and make a list of the 10 reasons why Zanjeer didn't work. It really doesn't matter anymore. I've already moved on to my next project in Telugu. It's called Yevadu. And it releases for Dussehra on October 10. That's a full-on action thriller. My fans like to see me fight. They rejected Thoofan because most of the time I was just angry and seething silently. That's not how they like to see me."

Now with the project with Salman happening, Ram Charan is upbeat about his Hindi career. "I've nowhere to go but ahead since I've touched rock-bottom with Zanjeer. Actually I had things much too easy so far. My life and my career were like a fairytale. I think I needed to be jolted."

Bigg Boss 7: The bigg swap!

Posted by decentflirty On 11:05 No comments
The 'tabdla' day this week held a 'Bigg' surprise for both the Jahannum and the Jannat contestants which completely threw their planning and plotting into disarray.

Bigg Boss 7
Bigg Boss 7
Bigg Boss called Kamya and Kushal to the confession room and asked them to discuss with other inmates for the names of those who performed well and for who did not from hell and heaven, for the 'tabadla'.

The hell-mates recommended Apurva's name as he was brave and sporty enough to chop his hair off and Elli's name for weak performer. On the heaven-side, the contestants took Shilpa's name for the best performer and Asif's name for the weak performer.

After this Bigg Boss announced the bigg twist in the 'tabadla' procedure, which absolutely baffled the contestants. Bigg Boss asked everyone, except Elli on the hell side and Shilpa on the heaven side, to pack their bags and get ready for the swap. Everyone on the hell side was happy over the decision, while everyone on the heaven side were unhappy.

The only person on the heaven side who was happy was Shilpa, because her husband came to haven, the same side as her.

With the biggest swap in the Bigg Boss happening just in week 3, what else is in store in the coming weeks, we'll have to wait and watch.

Salman Khan feeds Bigg Boss contestants

Posted by decentflirty On 15:48 1 comment
Salman Khan has never been a stickler for rules. And the actor-host recently flaunted that attitude on the sets of Bigg Boss 7. For some time now, the show’s contestants have been raising objections over the limited quantity of food available to them. In a few episodes, some even complained of weakness, as they hadn’t eaten well.

Two weeks ago, post Hazel Keech’s eviction, she also went on record in a report, saying, “There wasn’t enough food and water for everyone in the house." Then last week, when this news reached Salman’s ears while he was on the set in Lonavala, he decided to do something about it.

Although the format of the show doesn’t give contestants access to extra food  (unless they earn it or manage to save some by rationing it), the actor still went ahead and treated them to some snacks. "The first time, Salman got them burgers," says an insider, adding, "But last Saturday, he ordered a variety of things for breakfast; including samosas, rasgullas and dosas."

The food was delivered to them with a note saying that the meal was sent to them by Salman. The footage of them eating the food was not aired in any episodes probably because feeding the contestants is against the rules. The actor even promised to continue to bring them more food in the coming weeks. When contacted, the channel’s spokesperson didn’t comment on the matter.

Last season, Salman had sent food to the house just once. The channel, however, has given participants special dishes on events like Diwali or their birthdays (and footage of these meals was aired on TV).

Superstar Salman Khan, who brought mass entertainers back to life with films like Wanted, Ready and Dabangg, feels that this space might die soon as it is now being overdone.

A new wave of action-masala entertainers was created by Salman and choreographer-turned-director Prabhu Deva with Wanted in 2009.

The film earned over Rs 160 crore and changed things for the 47-year-old in the industry after a low phase.

Salman's Ready, Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2 made him one of the bankable stars in Bollywood.

"This space will die totally. I think this was a beautiful format where we had films like 'Wanted', Dabangg etc. Now everybody has overdone it so much that it might die away. These kinds of films are popular but the creativity is becoming less... It seems the same stuff is happening (every time in these films). I don't know which genre will click now," Salman told PTI in an exclusive interview here.

"The whole thing where one person beating up 50 people flying around will remain as this is part of our cinema. But there is a reason why and how he is beating. Now, the way action is done will change," he added.

Salman has an interesting range of films in his kitty including Jai Ho, Kick, Sooraj Barjatya's next and Prabhu Deva's next.

"Jai Ho will be different kind of film altogether it has all the ingredients -- drama, emotion etc. Kick is also a different film. Again, Sooraj asked me to do a film for them, he gave me the idea and I loved it. It was a great script I had not worked with him since long," he said.

Also, Salman will be launching Sooraj, son of Aditya Pancholi, in the remake of Hero but he is not willing to share details about the project currently.
